Order of the Sinking Star Demo Walkthrough: Mirror Isles (East), All 23 Levels
This page walks the Mirror Isles (East) region of the June 2026 Next Fest demo, level by level. For each level you get the idea that unlocks it and a link that opens the community solution video at that exact level, so you can watch the moves instead of reading them. Levels are numbered the way the in-game overworld map numbers them (1 to 23).
The video we link is Joric’s full East solution. We watched it, wrote our own notes, and did not copy its footage. Credit and links are in the sources block at the bottom.
How mirrors work (read this first)
- A mirror stands on a tile and projects two beams at a right angle (for example one going left, one going down).
- When you step onto one beam, the game shows a ghost of you on the other beam at the same distance from the mirror. Activate the mirror and the two positions are swapped.
- The swap is not only for you. Boulders, crystals and bushes on a beam are reflected the same way, which is how you get objects across water or onto pressure plates.
- Because the swap is by distance, most levels are about counting tiles: stand exactly as far from the mirror as the tile you want to reach.
- Some mirrors can be pushed to a new tile, which changes where the beams go. If a room looks impossible, check whether the mirror moves.
- When the reflected destination is blocked, the beam shows red and nothing happens. That is the game telling you to move something first.

| # | What it teaches | Key move | Video |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Your first mirror. | Walk onto the beam, watch the ghost appear on the other arm, activate, and you land on the island with the goal tile. | 0:08 |
| 2 | Two mirrors, one route. | Use the top mirror to cross to the middle island, then the left mirror to reach the goal on the right. Distance matters: line up with the goal before swapping. | 0:16 |
| 3 | Boulders block beams. | A boulder sits where you need to stand. Push it off the line first, then mirror across. The mirror in this room can also be pushed. | 0:30 |
| 4 | Reflecting from far away. | The only useful spot is several tiles from the mirror. Walk out along the beam until your ghost sits on the goal island, then swap. | 1:08 |
| 5 | Moving the mirror. | Push the mirror down the strip so its beams reach the goal island, then mirror yourself across. Boulders on the left are decoys. | 1:20 |
| 6 | Reflecting a boulder. | Send a boulder through the mirror to fill the gap, then walk over it. You reach the small goal island in the top left last. | 1:54 |
| 7 | Boulder as a bridge, twice. | Mirror a boulder into the water between islands, cross, and repeat from the other side to reach the goal. | 2:24 |
| 8 | Pushing the mirror into position. | The mirror starts far from the goal. Push it along the ridge until one beam points at the goal island, then swap. | 2:42 |
| 9 | Two mirrors, two goals. | Two goal tiles must both be covered. Use one mirror to place yourself, the other to place a second body on the second plate. | 3:17 |
| 10 | Three goals in a row. | Three plates on the lower island. Mirror bodies down one at a time; the red beam means the landing tile is already taken. | 3:45 |
| 11 | Mirror on the move. | Push the mirror so its beam crosses the water, reflect over, then use the boulder to reach both plates on the top island. | 4:26 |
| 12 | Reflect, then walk the long way. | The mirror gets you onto the big island; the rest is a walk around the boulder to the plate. | 4:58 |
| 13 | Crystals count too. | A pink crystal can be reflected like a boulder. Mirror it onto the plate and finish with yourself on the goal. | 5:48 |
| 14 | Ice and a green target. | Bring the crystal next to the mirror, reflect it across to the green target, then cross yourself. | 6:22 |
| 15 | Push, then reflect. | Push the crystal into the beam before swapping it; the plate is one tile past where the crystal starts. | 6:48 |
| 16 | Long push, short swap. | Push the mirror along the strip, reflect the boulder to bridge the gap, then walk to the goal at the bottom. | 7:04 |
| 17 | Two crystals, one mirror. | Reflect the first crystal onto its plate, reposition, reflect the second. Order matters because the first swap changes what blocks the beam. | 7:47 |
| 18 | The mirror behind the wall. | The boulder must be pushed out of the beam line before the mirror can send you to the goal in the top right. | 8:15 |
| 19 | Three red crystals. | Reflect the crystals one by one onto the row of plates; use the second mirror to reach the last plate. | 8:32 |
| 20 | Stacking crystals across water. | Reflect crystals into the open water to build a path toward the goal island on the left. | 9:13 |
| 21 | Bushes are objects. | Green bushes reflect too. Use the mirror to drop a bush onto the blue plate, then cross. | 9:50 |
| 22 | Two Traders, one mirror. | Two bodies must reach two goals. Reflect one to the far plate first, then bring the second around. | 10:23 |
| 23 | Finale. | Everything at once: reflect objects to build the route, then reflect yourself to the two distant goal islands. Watch this one. | 10:47 |
The Promise (West): 20 gems
The West half of the demo is about colored beams rather than mirrors: green lets you walk through walls, blue pushes boulders, yellow destroys rocks. The full 20-gem solution is in Joric’s West video. We will add a gem-by-gem table here, and per-puzzle pages for the full game after October 8, 2026. Mechanics for both regions are explained on Worlds and puzzle mechanics.

FAQ
How many levels are in the Order of the Sinking Star demo?
The Mirror Isles (East) demo region has 23 levels and The Promise (West) has 20 gems to collect. Community counts put the whole Next Fest demo at roughly 75 to 105 puzzles depending on what you count as a level.
How do the mirrors work in Mirror Isles?
A mirror projects two beams at a right angle. Whatever stands on one beam is swapped with the tile at the same distance on the other beam. That applies to the Trader, boulders and crystals alike, and it works across water.
Can I still play the demo?
The demo was part of Steam Next Fest in June 2026 and is no longer listed on the Steam page as of September 30, 2026.
Is the demo content in the full game?
The demo regions are the opening of the East and West worlds, so expect the same levels early in the full game, possibly with tweaks.
